Infrared Thermography

An infrared camera can be used by a home inspector to detect areas of moisture at roof structures and active roof leaks.

Once located, these areas can be more thoroughly checked with a moisture-metering device. Such evaluations must be performed by a home inspector who is trained in infrared thermal technology and building science.

Home inspectors and contractors can become Infrared Certified® by visiting www.nachi.org/ir.
